KARACHI: Processions ‘Youm-e-Ashura’, the martyrdom day of Hazrat Muhammedan Hussain (AS), his family, and devoted companions, was commemorated across the country yesterday (Tuesday).
Youme-e-Ashura:
The mourning processions were taken get in all the cities and towns of the country as Muslims were playacting rituals to mark the Ashura.
Muharram is the month of mourning for the seventh-century martyrdom of Hazrat Muhammedan Hussain (RA), the grandchild of the last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW).
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah declared that during the Moharram procession, no untoward incidents were reported from any place across the country.
He disclosed that from Moharram first until ninth, quite 6,000 Majalis were controlled amid tight security of 6,150 rangers’ personnel.
Strict security measures were ensured by the native management of various cities and a few road closures were additionally in situ to avoid any untoward incidents.
Law enforcers, together with police, Rangers, FC, and others were deployed on the procession routes. Meanwhile, transportable services were partly suspended as security measures in several cities.
Karachi Procession
The main procession was start from Nishtar Park after Majalis in the morning.
After passing through its ancient route, the procession terminated at Muhammedan Bargah-e-Hussainan Iraniaan Kharadar in the evening.

Provincial Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon and Minister for Labour Saeed Ghani visited the central room, established to observe the processions.
Lahore Procession
In Lahore, the most mourning procession was taken out from Nisar Haveli at Mochi Gate, that after passing through its ancient route culminated at karbala Gaamay Shah, wherever Shaam-e-Ghareeban was held.
Overall one hundred seventy processions and one hundred thirty majalis were organized in the Multan district.
The main procession was taken out from Muhammedan Bargah Heera Haidri in the morning that reached Ghanta Ghar within the evening after passing its ancient route.
Rawalpindi Procession
The main Alam and Zuljinah procession was taken out from Imambargah colonel Maqbool Hussain that culminated at Imambargah Qadeemi whereas passing through the selected routes.

The prime minister said that on the ninth and tenth of Moharram, the family of Hazrat Muhammedan Hussain (RA) and his loyal companions despite an absence of resources challenged the forces of enemies and tyranny that made Islam alive with the sacrifice of their lives on Muharram.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the martyrdom of Hazrat Muhammedan Hussain (RA) is a crucial lesson for the community.
